She was 75. Mrs. Petersen was born at Exie in Green County, Ky., daughter of the late. Mr. and Mrs. George Whitlock, the last survivor of four children. Preceding her in death was a brother, Shively Whitlock, and two sisters, Ruth Beck Wiserman and Ortella Findling. She spent her early life in Campbellsville and was a graduate of Cumberland College and the University of Kentucky. Mrs. Peterson, a former coach was the first woman to take a team to the state tourney, coached at Woodburn High School in Warren County. Her 1932 team was the last girls champion until the playoffs were resumed in 1975. She was a member of Sinawik Club, Central Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, University Women's Club, Kentucky State High School Athletic Association and Phi Beta Kappa. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Frank D. Peterson, a former vice president of ! business administration at UK, and one nephew, Rodney A. Beck, of Louisville. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at 1:30 p.m., at W. R. Milward Mortuary in Lexington. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
