    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Karen_Jorgensen Surnames: Milby, Marcum Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.green/17938.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I think I have incorrectly identified this James Henry Milby. This James Henry Milby has a pencilled in date on the obit of 1945 and says he is the son of Elec Milby. Does anyone know the birth and death dates of the above James Henry Milby? Below is the obit of James Harrison Milby, son of Antia Antonia La Pas De Santa Milby and Kate Victoria Marcum: James Harrison Milby was born near Gabe, Ky., April 24, 1909, departed this life in a Government hospital in Lexington, June 1, 1944. He spent most of his life in Summersville. He was the son of Antia and Katie Marcum Milby. He was a faithful son and brother, also a true friend to all who knew him. Two years ago April 2, his country needed him and he willingly answered the call. He served for a short while, then his health failed him. He was given treatment in an army hospital. At the time of his death he was in a Government hospital in Lexington. His death was the result of a third attack of pneumonia. James spoke many times during his illness of his belief in Christ and that he didn't want to do anything wrong. He made many requests that his people and friends live for Christ. He spoke frequently of his home above. He leaves a father, stepmother, six brothers, William, Robert, Carl, Howell, Clayton, and Dayton; four sisters, Nelly, Ola May, Florence and Cora Lillian. Also ! a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held by Rev. B. L. Despain and Rev. Rook at the Milby cemetery. His pallbearers were his brothers and flower girls his nieces, Marcella, Marie, Charlotte and Barbara Milby. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky. Vol. 2, compiled by Eunice Montgomery Wright, p. 152 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
