This is what I have on John Coleman. The information on Cager's mother is from Ruth Perkins at the Green Co., Library. Cager took the Jeffries name and his sister Jane went by the Slinker name. Any corrections are welcome. John Coleman Jeffries, born Sep 1840 in Green Co, KY.; died 22 Sep 1900 in Exie, Green Co., Ky.. Buried at the family Cem. at James Jeffries He was the son of William Alexander 'Alec' Jeffries and Lucy A. Pierce. He met (1) Mary Sophia Slinker. She was born in Green Co, KY.. She was the daughter of Caroline. He married (2) Amanda Susan Young 29 Apr 1866 in John M. Young's Home Green Co. Ky.. Witness: John Mathis, Samuel Hedgepeth, Robert Huffman and Alexander Jeffries. She was born 1845 in Platte County, Missouri.
