A military funeral was held at the Mt. Lebanon Church with the American Legion in charge. Rev. Coy Jeffries, chaplain of the Legion Post 124 conducted the service and burial was in the Curry cemetery. The son of Scott and Matilda Meadows Erwin, he volunteered for service in June 1941 and served with the 95th Coast Artillery in North African theater until September 1945 when he was discharged due to ill health. Suffering with a heart disease, he spent most of his time since returning from service in the Nicholas hospital. Surviving are 1 brother, 2 sisters, 1 half brother and 4 half sisters. Pallbearers were Joseph DeSpain, Joe Foster, Tobe Parson, Raymond McKinney, Udell Sullivan, and Milton Howard Montgomery. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
