Rev. V. A. Jones will be in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. E. S. Denton. Burial will be in the family cemetery. The son of the late Dr. Martin Carter and Mrs. Sally Roe Carter, he was born in Hart county, February 5, 1874. He was a member of the Liletown Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Miss Florence Atwell. She preceded him in death. He was later married to Miss Valeria Atwell. She preceded him in death in 1912. To this union five children were born. Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Flodence Gowen, Morris and Ocey Carter, all of Greensburg. In 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Nanie Jefferies. To this 1 union ten children were born. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters and five sons, Mrs. George Vetter, Mrs. Rue Burress, Mrs. Cecil Mays, all of G! reensburg; Floyd, Cornish, Bobby, Shirley and James Carter, all of Greensburg; also 31 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
