She was preparing to attend a District Woman's Club meeting at Horse Cave when she became ill. She was a native of Lebanon, Ky. and had lived in Greensburg for the past 20 years. Her husband, Dr. W. H. Crawford, died July 21, 1955. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Louise Elliott of Lebanon and Mrs. W. Ragsdale of Murphy, North Carolina; one niece, Mrs. E. J. Bath, who is with her husband stationed with the Armed Forces on Guam, and two nephews. Arrangements for funeral services had not been made at press time. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky. He was a brother of Dr. W. H. Crawford, Greensburg. Mr. Crawford was born in Livingston County, Ky., and taught school in various parts of the State before he came to Washington in 1893 as an employee of the Bureau of Education. He was a law clerk in the Government tor Several years and earned his law degree from George Washington University in 1895. The following year he received his master of law degree. Retired from Government 1924 Mr. Crawford became a customs lawyer, serving in Bureau of Customs from 1913 to 1922. For the next two years he was legal adviser to the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in charge of customs. At one time he represented the Treasury as custom's expert in a conference with Canada for suppressing smuggling operations on the Canadian border. After retiring from the Government in 1924, he went into private law practice, retiring about 1939. Mr. Crawford was active in Methodist affairs. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Bertie Hough Crawford, a daughter, Miss Jane Elizabeth Crawford, a teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School, and a brother, Dr. W. H. Crawford, of Greensburg. Funeral services were held Tuesday and burial was in Rock Creek Cemetery. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Lone Valley Baptist. She was united in marriage to Mr. Benjamin B. Chaudoin, 57 years ago, and to this union 1 son was born Mr. Bradley Chaudoin of Taylor Co. Besides her husband and son she is survived by 1 sister, Mrs. Lulla Chaudoin of Donansburg. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, March 5th at 1:30 p. m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Green County by Rev. B. E. Settles. Sixty years ago he married Miss Annie Belle Jeffries and to them were born four children, Mrs. Ida Edwards. Oak Ridge, Tenn., Hobart and Garrett. Horse Cave, Ky., and Leo, Oak Ridge, Tenn. All of them came home to lovingly help Mr. Carter in his illness. Besides his wife and these children he is survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, and many other relatives. Mr. Carter was devoted to his family and friends and the masses of red roses, his lifelong favorite flower, was their silent tribute at the services which were conducted at his home by Reverend Angelo Fancher, a friend and neighbor. Burial was in the Horse Cave cemetery. A few days before his last illness Mr. Carter told his wife that after a long, good life he knew he his time was about run out and he was ready for that other life that is the heritage of Christian mankind. Cox a former teacher in Green County Schools who was employed by the State Highway Department, was fatally injured last week when he lost control of a road roller which he was operating and it turned over just outside of Columbia on the Burkesville highway. Cheatham died 45 minutes later in an ambulance near Gradyville en route to the Glasgow hospital. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Chatham of the Milltown community and a member of the Christian Church. He is survived by his parents; wife, Mrs. Maxie Allison Cheatham; one daughter, Karen Sue; five brothers, Willard and Davis Cheatham of Columbia; Leonard, Joe, and Maurice Cheatham of Milltown; six; sisters, Mrs. Paul Callison, Mrs. Hailey Neagle of Columbia, Mrs. James S. Rev. V. A. Jones was in charge of services. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery. The son of the late John Close and Mrs. Elizabeth Cantrell Close, he was born in Green County August 8, 1867. He was a member of Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Miss Martha Larimore. She preceded him in death 54 years ago. To this union one son and two daughters were born. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Coffey and Mrs. E. S. Rayburn; one brother, Jim Close of Donansburg; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Ford of Mt.
