Moses was born in 1804; Isreal was born in 1804 OR 1807. I recently found the 1807 date for Isreal. I have always found the 1804 date leading me to believe that Isreal and Moses were twins. William was born in 1805. I found the handwritten marriage record of William Thompson and MARTHA MOMAN for 8 Sep 1836 in Gasconade County. Martha was only fifteen years old. To date, I have used Morrison as her surname, but that could have been her Mother's maiden name. I got nowhere with that. I've searched the Moman surname, again without concrete results. A fact to consider: Johnathan, the youngest brother, was born 10 Feb 1821 in Green County, Kentucky. In a note about Johnathan Thompson on rootsweb.com it says: Johnathan (the name) is also styled as Tahnattan and is believed to have received that name from his mother, said to be a full blooded native A! merican Indian. I sent a query to a native American linguistic ancestral consultant who believes that the Nattan part of the name would show either Shawnee or Cherokee influence. The consultant said that there were numbers of stragglers from tribes that would not frequently be found in Kentucky in the 1820-25 period. It would not be far-fetched to conjecture that since there are 14 or 16 years difference between Johnathan and his older brother, either William born in 1805 or Isreal born in 1807(?)that Johnathan might have a different Mother. More mysteries or maybe clues? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
