Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. P. H. Russell, Hardyville, and Mrs. W. G. Meadows of Canmer; and three grandchildren. The Reverends F. T. Peppers and Jim Bonta were in charge of the services and burial was in the Oak Grove cemetery. He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Tom Mayes, Mrs George Jeffries, Frank Davis, Mrs. Elmer Kidd, Mrs. Roy Jeffries, Mrs. Linzie Bishop, Mrs. Ulys Davis, and Fred Davis, all of Green County; 35 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren: a sister, Mrs. Gilbert Slinker, and three half-brothers, Henry Davis, Green county, and Ira and Rodger Davis, both of Cumberland county. He joined the Separate Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel, when he was a youth. This later became the Oak Grove Church. He served in a number of important offices in the church. Druin who survives her. She was born in 1875. She was the mother of 10 children, five of whom died in infancy, and a sixth, Edna, preceded her in death 31 years ago. Skaggs in 1894. To this union five children were born, 4 surviving. He was a member of the Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. He was 65 years, nine months and 22 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired laborer for the Hyster Co. He united in marriage to Miss Mary Jane McCubbin on October 24, 1950, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters and two sons: Patricia Briddick of Princeton, Illinois, Bretta Kaufman of Princeton, Illinois, Dean Dile of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Kimmie Dile of Greensburg, and William Dile of Greensburg; three brothers and three sisters: Freeman Dile of Frankfort, Richard Dile of Greensburg, Henry Dile of Elizabethtown, Maxine Shanks of Elizabethtown, Ethal Mae Brown of Horse Cave, and Mary Ann Russell of Scottsville; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and a host of ! other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Monica Dile, and also three brothers and one sister. The funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 23, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. There was a graveside service and burial in the Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Illinois, on Monday, August 24. Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Rev. Randall Gray officiated. Lucille Dobson preceded her mother in death.
