She was the daughter of the late Mr. John Lobb and Mrs. Matilda Kessler Lobb, and was born in Green County December 1, 1879. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Thurlow. She was united in marriage to Charlie Gupton on February 6, 1901. He preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Martin B. Durbin, Taylorsville, IL; Mrs. Elmore Perkins, and Mrs. Dallas Pruitt, of the Thurlow section; one son, Everett Gupton, Route 1, one brother; William Lobb, Route 1; three sisters, Mrs. Will Strader, Thurlow, Mrs. Emmit Stilts, Exie, and Mrs. Laura Bishop, Danville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. V. A. Jones and Eugene Gibson in charge. Burial was in the Curry Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Gupton, Herman Altman, Odell Altman, Bernard Altman, Vernon Berry and Vandal Judd. He was born in Green County, December 21, 1890 the son of T. V. and Lolie Bridgewater Gupton. He was married to Ive Russell, December 5th, 1915, they were the parents of three sons. Surviving are sons, Ralph and Alvin both at home. One son Thomas died in 1943. He also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Josie Franklin, Mrs. Elizabeth Wallace and Mrs. Maud DeMar all of Louisville and Mrs. Grace Robinson of Bowling Green. Mr. Gupton leaves several nieces and nephews. Services will be held today, March 30tn in the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral at 2 o'clock with the Revs. Roy Alexander, Joe Hampton and Earl Pike officiating. Burial will be in the Saloma Cemetery. He was the son of Willis and Nancy Marcum Gardner. He professed faith in Christ in 1936, but never united with any church. He stated a few weeks ago that he was ready for his eternal home, and only awaiting the Lord's Summons. On August 15, 1895 he was united in marriage to Miss Mollie Graham. To this union was born three sons, the eldest dying in infancy. Surviving him are two sons, J B Gardner, Johnson City, Tenn. and Harry Gardner, Summersville, Ky. Also he is survived by three brothers, Clarence and Ed Gardner of Greensburg and C.E. Gardner, Louisville, Ky., besides , a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. She was 74 years and one month of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Methodist Evangelical Church at Thurlow. She was united in marriage to James Robert Gowen who preceded her in death on January 6, 1971. To this union were born two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Ruth Campbell, Columbia, Ky.; Mrs. Janel Pruitt, James Corley Gowen, and Raymond Doyle Gowen, all of Louisville. Ky. Two brothers survive: Morris Carter and Ocey Carter, both of Greensburg, Ky. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jacob's Grove Baptist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Miss Annie Turner, who preceded him in death. To this union was born one daughter: Mrs. Elsie Ford, Indianapolis, Ind. He later united in marriage to Miss Anna Smith, who preceded him in death. Mr. Hodges is also survived by one brother: Willie T. Hodges, Greensburg; three grandchildren: Nancy Ford, James C. Ford and Carolyn Ford, all of Indianapolis; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Jacob's Grove Baptist Church Wednesday, May 28, 1969 at 1 p.m. with burial in the Cave Spring Cemetery. Rev. C. C. Willis officiated. Obituaries of Green Co. Monday, on Highway 3IE at Buffalo, Ky. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph Infirmary. Harold R. Nunn, 24, who was riding on the motorcycle with Hodges, was rendered unconscious, and was also taken to St. Joseph Infirmary The extent of his injuries have not been learned, but he is expected to recover. Hodges, who attended Greensburg High School, served in the Armed Forces for eight years with four years overseas duty. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 13 and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1942 he was united in marriage to Miss Dorothy Johnson of San Fernando, California. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Brodus Akin and Mrs. James Christie; and one brother, Jo Tommy Hodges. Also surviving are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Hodges, one niece, ! two nephews, six aunts, and three uncles. Military services were held at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Greensburg Methodist Church with burial in the Greensburg cemetery. Holman, daughter of the late John Wesley Jones and Betty Britt Jones, was born June 6, 1892 in Allen County, Kentucky and departed this life at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, April 10, 1977 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She was 84 years, 10 months and four days of age. She had made of profession of faith in Christ and attended the Shiloh Baptist Church in Barren County. She united in marriage to Mr. Corbett Holman, who preceded her in death in July, 1963. To this union was born one son: Woodrow Holman, Greensburg. Mrs. Holman is also survived by one sister: Mrs. Mayme Blair, Smiths Grove, Ky.; two step-grandchildren: Mrs. Brenda Aguillon, Colorado City, Texas and Mrs. Sandy Hijar, Phoenix, Arizona; and four step-great-grandchildren ,and host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 1977 with graveside services at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the! Beech Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Barren County. Rev. Calvin Mouser officiated. Pallbearers were: Jack Grimsley, Harold Hudgins, Marion Whitlock, Willard Coffey, John Ed Hancock, and Sherill D. He was the son of Samuel P. and Emily Hood. At the age of 27 he was married to Judy Sullivan and to this union three children were born, two of which with his wife preceded him in death. William B. Hood survives. In 1904 he was again married to Viola Lile and to this union six children were born. Mrs. R. R. Slucher, Mrs. Robert D. Gibbs, Mrs. Sarah H. Marcum, Celo and Elizabeth and Ellis Hood. Also surviving are one brother, W. G. Hood of Logansport, Ind., four grandchildren, and his wife to mourn his passing. He professed faith at an early age and united with the Macedonia Baptist Church.
