Graham died early Wednesday morning, June 5 at the home of her brother, Dr. J. C Graham, after being in ill health for several years. She was in her seventy-eighth year. Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m., Friday, June 11, in the Greensburg Baptist Church with Dr. B. B. Hilbun in charge. Burial will be in the Greensburg cemetery and the Greensburg chapter of the Eastern Star will have charge. Miss Graham, the daughter of the late Silas and Mary Lou Smith Graham, was born near Allendale and lived in Green county all her life. She was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church and taught the Fidelis class there until her health failed. She taught in the public school of Green county for a number of years and in 1901 was elected county superintendent of schools. She served in this capacity for 16 years. She was the first worthy matron of the Greensburg chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was educated at the Southern Normal School, Bowling Green. S! he lived with her brother, D J. C. Graham, son of the late Silas and Mary Lou [Smith] Graham, of Green County, departed this life at his residence on Columbia Avenue, on Monday, February 26, 1951, at the age of 73 years. Dr. Graham had been engaged in the practice of Medicine in Green and adjoining counties for forty years, having graduated in Osteopathy in Demoines, Iowa, and in Medicine at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, in 1911. He was united in marriage with Josie Settles, who survives him, in 1912. To this union were born three, daughters, Eleanor Young, wife of Dr. W. L. Hanawalt, Jessie, wife of Homer P. Simmons, and Mary Lou Graham, all of whom survive. He is also survived by one grandson, Jimmie Stephens, and two brothers, H. J. Graham of Louisville, Ky, and S.F. Graham of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives in this part of the State. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Miss Lizzie Graham, Mrs. Mollie Gardner and Miss Eliza Graham. Dr. Graham served with disti! nction in World War I, as a First Lieutenant, and was wounded in the Battle of the Argonne. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Greensburg, by Revs. W.D. Owen, Claud Squires and V. A. Jones, in the presence of a host of friends, who loved him and who bore testimony of the high esteem with which he was held by the people of this county, after which the body was laid to rest in the Greensburg cemetery, under the direction of the Greensburg lodge of Masons, of which he had been a faithful member for many years.
