He professed faith in Christ during his illness. He was united in marriage to Miss Beulah Mays, August 1, 1935, and to this union one daughter, Dixie Carolyn Gumm, was born. Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by one grandson, Michael Gumm, five sisters, and four brothers: Mrs. Lee Webb, Mrs. Earl Gardner, Mrs. Archie O'Banion, Ed Hay, Bob Hay, and John Hay, all of Green County; Mrs. Walter Marcum of Taylor County, Mrs. Ed Gardner of Indiana, and Brack Hay of Boston. Ky. Funeral services were held Saturday at New Salem Baptist church with Rev. Manley Towles in charge, assisted by Rev, V. A. Jones, Rev, J. L. Piercy, and Rev. Chester Deacon. Burial was in the Hay cemetery. Active pallbearers were Wayne O'Banion, Russell O'Banion, Coleman Hay, Rollin Gardner, Philip Hay, Fred Gard! ner.
