I met two of my father's cousins, ones who continued to live in the DeSoto area. His aunts didn't have many children, it seems. I have met several cousins who are related to us through Parthena Hamilton Ramsey's family, however. She married John Benton Ramsey, a brother of my great-grandmother who married Francis Hamilton. Parthena, of course is Francis's sister. I would very much like to exchange information with you, particularly pictures. I have the Dallas history article and have traced Miles in Illinois. I also have a copy of his pension papers that Mary filed. I can send you copies of a couple of family photos, showing the Francis Hamilton family group. I will also send you some of the other stuff I've worked up over the years. Please start using my private email address at blizziew@comcast.net. I am delighted to hear from you! You say you are my Texas cousin. Are you still living in Texas? I moved away from Dallas in 1961 and haven't managed to get that black dirt out of my soul. I have some information on the Texas Hamiltons if you would be interested I am happy to share. I wrote the Texas Archives a couple of years ago and they sent me an article on Francis M. Hamilton from a Dallas "early family" book that was most interesting. I also have some Civil War information on him that you may already have. I also have a very "poor" copy of a photograph of John Lafayette Hamilton which at least gives a good idea of his physical characteristics. Do you have any photos?
