On Dec. 25, 1912 she was married to Dewitt Jeffreys. Nine children were born to this union, and seven preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Rex and Raymond Jeffries of Louisville; her mother, Mrs. Ella Wallace; one brother, Vernard Wallace; and one sister, Mrs. Ruia Slinker of Pierce, and many relatives and friends whose hearts were saddened at her unexpected death. At the age of ten years she was converted and joined Trammel Creek Baptist Church, later moving her membership to the Greensburg Baptist Church of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was faithful to her church, her family and her friends, and hers was a life that was in constant touch with the Master's hand, and. though we grieve at her going, we know that, that body that suffered ! so long is at rest, and God's plans are always for our good. Her funeral was conducted at Trammel Creek church on Jan. 11, 1941, by Rev. Manley Towles, assisted by Rev. L. W. Stanger, and she was laid to rest in the Wallace cemetery. I cannot say and I will not say that she is dead. She is just away. So did this John Coleman Jeffries also marry Amanda Young? I showed a marriage for them in 1866. If the marriage record and the obit are correct, Macajah would have died about 1944, right?
