I have a great great grandfather named Moses from Green County also (born 1835-died 1899) and I'm wondering if there is a connection between our two. One of my Moses' sons was named Moses Riley Morris (born abt 1865) but I don't have any information on him. Could yours be one of these guys? Looking forward to hearing from you. My people had a connection to Missouri in several places also, so I'm curious to know more about yours. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This is really interesting. I have to thank you, very much, for sending this along. I will follow it up, but it looks entirely possible that the Samuel born to this Jesse Puryear could well be the same Samuel who was father to Sarah and Mary Puryear who married the brothers Zachariah and Gustavus Smith in Taylor County, KY, respectively. The ages and timeframes fit almost perfectly, and the relative remoteness of this part of KY and relative uniqueness of the name Puryear both militate against mere coincidence. This is very helpful and provides many clues for further research. Again, many thanks and best regards, Doug Smith Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Thanks that was Jimmy Osbourn. He came into our station (WKLV) back in 1947 to attend Virginia Flok Music Festival and Parade in Blackstone, Va. He was there with Clyde Moody and Grandpa Jones among others. Jimmy was a very nice fellow and made good impressions at the Festival. Enjoyed spending some time with him. I had all three together on our station together. Could he have been out of the Osbourns of Ashe County N.C. ? Thanks Lee Hash **************Start the year off right.
