He was 69 years, five months and 29 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Houk's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a grave digger for Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home for 17 years. He was a retired Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Army Reserve for 22 years. He was a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124 and a member of the Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM. He united in marriage June 27, 1969 to Ruth Adena Kessler, who survives. He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Morris Gene Sallee and Delores Ann Sallee. Other survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Logan Danny and Terri Sallee and Robert Allen and Sandy Sallee, all of Glasgow, and Robb! ie Bagby and his fiancee' Janie Cox of Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Bill McKinney of Greensburg; four sisters: Athol Milby of Summersville, Jewel Cox and Lora Mae Dudgeon, both of Campbellsville, and Mary Vance of Greensburg; two; brothers: William Edward Sallee and Damon Sallee, both of Campbellsville; 10 grandchildren: Danny Ray Sallee, Samantha Sallee, Amy Sallee, Korey Sallee, Bayli Bivens, Lindsey Sallee, Jennifer Sallee, Jason Sneed, Shelley Wright and Brandon Lowe; seven great-grandchildren: Zann Hiser, Malory Hiser, Zachery Hiser, Kadyn Hargis, Lilly Sallee, Kylie Sallee and McKena Wright and a host of other relatives and friends. Born Oct. 3, 1920, in Mount Gilead, Ky., she died Feb. 12 [2002] from complications associated with pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Whitlow moved to Ambia, Ind., with her family as a young child and graduated from Ambia High School. She later graduated from Lee Automotive School in Chicago. During her career, Mrs. Whitlow worked as a metallurgist for Kleinschmidt Laboratories in Chicago and was later employed in the IBM department of Avon Cosmetics in Morton Grove and at the executive offices of United Airlines in Chicago. She married Fred Whitlow on June 28, 1941. Mr. Whitlow, better known as the "Jews' Harp King," and Mrs. Whitlow, known as the "Jews' Harp Queen," moved to Palmetto 33 years ago from Wheeling. She was an active tennis and shuffleboard player and won awards for her expertise in the games. She also belonged to the Manatee City Art Lea! gue, winning numerous ribbons for her watercolor painting and colored pencil drawings. She designed the postal cancellation for the Heritage Station Post Office for March 14, 1998. She was also an accomplished author, having published several short stories. She loved Florida and living close to her aunt and many cousins in the Bradenton area. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Palmetto. Mrs. Whitlow will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends who loved her. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela (Jim) Lents; granddaughters Heather Meeks and Stacey Gibbs, all of California; and sisters Hazel Stump of Iowa and Clettis Powley of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on April 1, 2001. Mrs. Walling is survived by her children, Rita Cox, Kimberly Robertson, James "Buster" Clark, and Donald Clark, her brother, Rev. Powell Whitlock and a sister Loretta Hall. 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a son Danny Clark. Services will be 12pm Wed at Kerr Brothers-E. Mrs. Armstrong was born in Greensburg, KY to the late Oliver F. and Virgie A. [Larimore] Sidebottom. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for twenty years and was active in missions organizations. Previously, she taught children's Sunday School and lead statewide children's Sunday School conferences. She was a devoted wife of 67 years to the late Rev. Boyd E. Armstrong. The children are grateful to God that He blessed them with one of the most loving, caring, giving mothers that any children could ever have. She was blessed by the love of countless treasured friends. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Armstrong and Betty (Tommy) Ansley; one son, Larry E. (CeCelia) Armstrong; eight grandchildren, Traci (Leslie) Spiller, Trent (Katie) Armstrong, Holly (Ben) Drake, Beth Ansley, Ben Ansley, David Ansley, Tim Ansley, and Abi! Ansley; four great grandchildren, Maggie Spiller, Braden Spiller, Hunter Drake, and Luke Armstrong. Visitation will be held Friday, August 26th from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Shades Mountain Baptist Church, 2017 Columbiana Road.
