Go approximately 0.55 (slightly more than one-half mile) miles. The road will then split. Take the right hand Rd for approximately 1.4 miles. There will be a sharp 90 degree curve to the right. Immediately after this curve, there will be a metal gate on the left with a car path leading through a field. Follow this car path through this field to the cemetery. Reverend V. A. Jones and Reverend C. D. Owen conducted the services. Wilkerson, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. John Wilkerson, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Francis Murrah, January 1, 1950. He was born in Green County August 26, 1870 and professed faith in Christ early in life. He united in marriage to Miss Mary Elizabeth Beard in 1901 and to this union 8 children were born. Surviving are his wife, two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Mary Francis Murrah, Greensburg, Mrs. Audrey Gowen, Louisville, and Ulys and Oscar, Louisville. He also leaves one sister and one brother, Mrs. I. W. Sullivan, Green County, and Ras Wilkerson, Adair County, and 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Services were conducted by Rev. F. T. Pepper and Rev. Fowler. Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery. The daughter of David Mears and Mrs. Mary Skaggs Mears, she was born May 10, 1882. She was united in marriage to Jeff Henry Warren in 1897. To this union eight children were born. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church. He had been ill several months. He was a son of the late Frank Whitlock and Mrs Louise Bagby Whitlock, and was born in Green County March 28, 1887. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Patterson in 1922. Surviving are two sons, Milby and Demon Whitlock, both of Green County: two brothers, Henry and Roscoe Whitlock, Green County; two sisters, Mrs. Odie Pruitt, Exie, and Mrs. Maggie Lile of Louisville; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Greasy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. V. A. Jones in charge. Burial was in the Sandidge Cemetery.
