Blaydes and Mrs. Donnie Dial Blaydes, was born July 27, 1921, in Metcalfe County and departed this life on Thursday, December 24, 1998, at the Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was 77 years, four months and 27 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the United Christian Church and also the Ministerial Association. He united in marriage to Miss Mary Drusilla Mouser on July 3, 1942, who survives. To this union were born two sons and three daughters: Henry Ford Blaydes of Valley Station, Mary Alice Dunbar of Louisville, Velma Lee Stillwell of Mt. Washington, Joseph Blaydes of Mableton, Georgia, and Doris Marlene Willard of Louisville. He is also survived by five sisters and two brothers: Lucille Whitlock of Edmonton, Emeline Mouser of New Albany, Indiana, Ruby Morgan of Edmonton. James Blaydes of Center, Jacob Blaydes of Center, Barbara Henry of Louisville, Elizabeth Martin of Edmonto! n; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Rev. Sonnie Cordell Blaydes were conducted Monday, December 28, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Rev. DeSpain and Mrs. Betty Luna DeZarn DeSpain, was born November 18, 1894 in Green County and departed this life Wednesday, December 18, 1968 at Oxford, Mississippi. He was 74 years of age. He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church at the time of his death. Mr. DeSpain had served in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He had made his home in Winona, Mississippi for the past 35 years where he had worked as a railroad telegrapher. He united in marriage to Miss Leona Matherly, December 20, 1917, who survives. To this union were born two daughters: Mrs. Louise Clark, Lakeview, Texas; and Mrs. Lucy Furr, Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. DeSpain is also survived by six grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. CST Saturday, December 21, 1968 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. V. A. Jones officiating. Burial was in DeZarn Cemetery. She was 42 years, two months and 27 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. Ollen Dixon December 31, 1953, who survives. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: Paul, Kenneth, Ruthie and Ronald Dixon all at home. Mrs. Dixon is also survived by one sister: Mrs. Sylvia Scroggy, Louisville; two brothers: William and Ray Curry both of Greensburg and one half-sister, Stella Ann Curry, Greensburg; her stepmother, Mrs. Stella Curry, Greensburg and host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Mo! nday, January 6, 1975 with burial in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. He was an active participant in the Open Door Sunday school class and had served on the Administrative Council as well as being the delegate to Annual Conference from Greensburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jean Alexander Blakeman; his daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Gary Steven Milby of Greensburg; his daughter, Le Ann Pickett of Greensburg; his son and daughter-in-law, Nelson Wayne and Ellen Blakeman of Elizabethtown; his sister, Mattie Lee Curry of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Jonathan Milby, Chelsea Pickett, Katie Pickett, Emily Blakeman and Sarah Blakeman. He wa! s preceded in death by his brother, David Blakeman. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 15, at the Greensburg United Methodist Church with burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev.
