I don't know how much help it will be because I did talk with all of daddy's brother and sisters and none of them knew their grandmother's name. I am like you and find that so hard to understand except that we knew she had not been able to raise him. It just seems strange. I never got to know any of them as they had all died before I was born and Charlie died when I was a baby. His wife Hettie was John J. and Hanora Paradine Embrey's oldest daughter. She and my mom, Cuba, were sisters and daddy, Howard and Charlie were half brothers. I am actually a granddaughter of Hettie and Charlie but was raised by Howard and Cuba.
