KY. She listed him as her nephew in 1880, she was a widow. Her brother was James W. House b. 1820. Their parents were William D. House and Jane 'Jinny' Neal. James W. House was married to Clarissa 'Clary' Yaeger/Yager. They had 11 children as far as I know. I believe Clarissa is the mother of Valantine 'Bud' House, although I don't have any official record showing it. I have searched and found some infomation from other researchers that shows him to be in this family, and some family trees that do not have him in the family, but he is not on any census with them, he is with the Miller family at 3 years old and 13 years old for those years I mentioned, and then on his own with his own family. He lived nearby my grgrandfather Grayson A. Miller, who was the grandson of Delilah in the early 1900's before my family line moved out West. He was in the photo I posted earlier hunting with Bud House and Charle. Clarissa appears to still be living on the 1900 Grayson Co. Ky Census With her daughter Palestine Taylor. House Clerisa Mother in law W F Jan 1827 73 widowed 11 children born 7 living PA NY NY It could make sense that his mother could not take care of him for some reason at the time, she was in her 40's, and had had many children. I thought some time ago before I new much about it, that she must have died and he was taken in by his aunt's family, but in 1870 when he was 3 and living with the Millers, his father and mother were on the census with some of their other children: Title: 1870 U.S. Census Page: Grayson County, KY, Image 23, Caneyville PO, Caney Pct, family 153 Note: House, James W 50 M W Carpenter $250 $600 KY House, Cleracy 45 F W Keeping House Penn House, J J 17 M W KY House, G.
