Willis brn 1847--1850 D. after September 1918. He married Lucretia Ann Meredith. They lived in Hardin/Grayson County areas. They are briefly mentioned in the book "Millerstown and its People" as having several children. Children: 1. Mary D. b. ca. 1872 2. William Van 1876--1936 married Connie Ethel Meredith 3. Henry Pierce Willis 02Jan1878--14APR1970 4. Oscar L. ca.1879 5. Julia Ann Willis 18 MAR 1883--15 JAn 1921 a. married Lonnie Blair 1900 b. mariied William Henry Miller 1908 6. Kirk Porter 1886-- 7. Caroline ca. 1888 Lucretia Jane Meredith Willis passed away in 1903. I do not know if James R. Willis remarried. He is shown as living in "Fragrant, Kentucky" in 1918 on the WWI draft registrations of his sons Henry P. and Kirk P. Frangrant is an unicorporated community in the area between Leitchfield and Millerstown. Have been trying to determine who James R's parents were. Some researchers have offered that his middle name may be Robert and that his father may be a "John Willis" but they have no source for this info. I have tried pursuing the connection between the Willises and Merediths, but that has not revealed James R's lineage. He is also referred to as "J.R." in some public records. William Van and his family lived in the Dog Creek area. Kirk P. lived for several years in Sac County Iowa. Henry P. also spent time in Iowa. He registered for the WWI draft in Sac County Iowa and in 1920 was living with Bird T. Busroe and his family. In the 1925 Iowa census, Henry P. shows up again in Sac County living with a family with the last names of Batie and Raech. In 1930, Henry P. is still in Iowa, staying with the Liechty family. There is some indication that this Willis line is connected to Bord T. Willis, but I have not been able to confirm that. Henry P. moved back to Kentucky and passed away in the Masonic Home in Shelbyville in 1970. Julian Ann Willis Blair Miller is my paternal grandmother. she passed away long before I was born but I still vividly remember her brother Henry P. Any help will be appreciated. Will gladly share what I have on the folloiwng namees and their lines in Kentucky-Bradley, Blair, Miller, Meredith, Higdon, Stinson, Alvey.
