Some say that it was an accident, and that Vina walked up behind Joseph while he was chopping wood. While others say that Joseph went crazy and that it was intentional. Either way, I have confirmed that Lavina (Vina) Johnson Pearl was murdered - per her death certificate. She died on 12/08/1915 in Grayson Co., KY. Also, I did confirm that Joseph Pearl was sent to Central State Hospital (mental institution) in Lakelnd, Jefferson Co., KY about 1915 and died in 02/1921 from exhaustion and manic depressive psycosis - per his death certificate. However, I have not confirmed that it was by her husband, Joseph Pearl, nor the circumstances to Lavina's murder. Therefore, I was wondering if someone had access to the Grayson Co. library and would mind looking to see if there is a newspaper article about Lavina's death? I will reimburse for the copy of the article made and send you a self-addressed stamped envelope for the copy to be sent to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
