    2. Z Hunter
    3. You have a good one there! In the cemetery books for Grayson Co. I show a couple of options, but I have nothing to tell me whether they are in or out of Clarkson.....You're on your own there. I found a Mount Moriah or a Mahurin. Looking for the Ann you mentioned didn't bring up anything for me. Maybe someone can help you further with the name at the Grayson Historical Society. Keep in mind that the naming of a cemetery does not always go from generation to generation, and you may have a listing for one going under a different name today. Hope this helps. zhunter [email protected] wrote: I am hoping someone can help me with the name of this cemetery located in Clarkson. I'm reading it from the Death Certificate of Ann Maria Spencer that died 4-22-1919. It looks like it is spelled Mourrtaie. . . . HELP! Thanks, Karen **************Gas prices getting you down? 1. [KYGRAYSO] Quilt question
    2. Charles Leach
    3. Florence Cubbage Patterson was born April 10, 1858, and died October 17, 1905, in Grayson County, Kentucky. Her birth home was between Leitchfield and Clarkson. Her father was Whitsell Kindle Cubbage and her mother was Mary Frances Marston. She married John Patterson in 1887 and lived near Clarkson. They attended the Clarkson Baptist Church. They had one child, Robbie Patterson, born 9 May 1889. Robbie married Charles Gardner Purcell. The quilt was prepared by church members and friends shortly after her death. In the center it says: "Sacred to the Memory of Florence Patterson, Born April 10th, 1858, died Oct. 17th, 1905, Blessed are they that die in the Lord, Baptist Ladies Aid, Clarkson, Ky" The names of the friends are embroidered on the quilt, primarily in circles, or "wheels" with the names as spokes, although some names are not in the circles. It is difficult to make out the correct spelling of some of the names, particularly the capital letters. Some of the names are repeated in different circles. There are about 725 names on the quilt, including the repeats. My family was told that the quilt was passed from family to family, so the actual sewing was probably done by the named person. My family donated the quilt to the Grayson County Historical Society, so you can see it there. I have a Word document with all of the names listed, but not in alphabetical order. If you want a copy of the document, email me direct as it is impossible to attachment a document to this list. Jim, my Patterson family was related to the Denton family, by marriage. Rebecca Patterson married William Carr Denton and they moved to Wyoming and raised a family there. I have quite a bit of Denton info, and I am missing quite a bit, so maybe we should trade information. Charles A. Leach <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]

    1. Re: [KYGRAYSO] Grayson County book? [KELLEY/KELLY Family research]
    2. Hi Paula, Sorry, I can't help with the title. It looks like it could be from something that might have been published about the history and people of Grayson, perhaps for a Centennial or historical celebration of some kine. If you haven't done so already, you might try contacting the Grayson Co. KY Library, _http://www.graysoncountylibrary.org/_ (http://www.graysoncountylibrary.org/) or the Historical Society, _http://www.graysoncokyhistsoc.org/_ (http://www.graysoncokyhistsoc.org/) Another website I have found useful for finding books is WorldCat _http://www.worldcat.org/_ (http://www.worldcat.org/) although it might not be much use without a full title or an author. Hope this helps in some way. Good luck. Jane **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars. (http://autos.aol.com/used?ncid=aolaut00050000000007)

    2. Paula Kelley Ward
    3. I am trying to find a book that has a section/chapter titled: "Grayson County, Kentucky, Descriptive and Personal" Years ago, someone sent me copies of two pages from a book but I was never able to get the complete source information. Does anyone recognize the above title or know if it's a chapter in a book? Here is what was sent (I am researching the KELLEY/KELLY families of Ohio, Daviess, Breckinridge, Grayson and Trigg Counties of Kentucky): The following is from "Grayson County, Kentucky, Descriptive and Personal", pp. 181-182: "...William S. was the seventh son of his father's family, having had six brothers; all lived to be old men, three of them for many years very prominent Baptist preachers: George W. Kelly, of Floyd County, Va.; John Kelly, of Trigg County, Ky., and Jeremiah Lewis Kelly, of Ohio County, Ky., were the preachers; also three sisters..." George W. Kelley is my 3rd great grandfather. I have Googled many searches and cannot find it. Help appreciated! I don'r remember the source. I have a note that John Henry Fowler, s/o William H. Fowler and Sarah Knott, married Winnifred Horrell, d/o John William "Jack" Horrell and Della Bridget Burks. Winnie's paternal grandparents were Henry Barton Horrell, II and Mary Martine J. Carrico. A far as I know, there is no connection of the Horrell families to the Harrell families except for a possible mis-reading of the Horrell name as Harrell.
