Here are some deaths I found that occurred in Grant Co. in 1852. What a shame so many from the same family died at the same time! August, 1852 - Isaac Wortman, age 55; married; father, Richard Wortman; place of birth, Grant Co.; cause, Cholera August 29, 1852 - Ellanore Cook, age 31; single, parents, William & Rachel Cook; place of birth, Scott Co.; cause, Cholera. August 15, 1852 - Rachel Cook, age 56; married; mother, Mary Wortman; place of birth, Scott Co.; cause, Cholera. August 5, 1852 - Manlius T. Cook , age 39; married; parents, William and Rachel Cook; place of birth, Scott, Co.; cause, Cholera. August 9, 1852 - Mary Cook, age 25; married; mother, Mary Jump; place of birth, Grant Co.; cause, Cholera. Now for how they are related: Isaac Wortman was a son of Richard Wortman and Mary Rancy . Isaac's sister was Elizabeth Wortman, wife of James Richard Ashcraft. Rachel Cook was the daughter of Richard Wortman and Mary Rancy, sister of Isaac and Elizabeth Wortman Ashcraft. Elenore Cook was daughter of Rachel (above) Wortman Cook and William Cook. Manlius T. Cook was the son of William Cook and Rachel Wortman Cook, brother of Elenore. Mary "Polly" Cook was the wife of Manlius Cook, daughter of Robert F. Jump and Mary Holiday. Hope this helps someone, Bonnie P.
