Hi Debby and All, In response to the questions Debby wrote to Sandra concerning the Simpson discrepancies, THE INDEX IS NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE. All Sandra and I do is tell you what it says. I have found several wrong entries. It is as accurate as the person giving the information was. Just like census records, the person giving the information could have been a teenager and just guessed at the birth dates etc. Could have even bee a boarder giving the information or, the census taker wrote it down wrong. My theory is to gather as many sources as you can; the ones that contain information that coincides with others, is the route I go. Unless we have famous ancestors who's every moment has been documented, we are pretty much left with "most likely." Family Bibles are wonderful sources, but even they aren't always correct. Some people have been known to "fudge" on ages in the family Bible in order to receive pensions! Even marriages have been known to be "concocted." Hope this helps to clarify why there is and always will be, discrepancies. Take care, Bonnie
