Bonnie, I don't think I am going to be able to be of much help tp you,but I will tell you what I found. I found a Newton P. Thompson in 1860 in Callensville Pendleton County in 1860 on page 499. I also found a Newton in Harrison County in 1870 on page 163.It doesn't give family members.I also typed in Thompson since we don't have his parents names and I found a bunch of Thompson's in Meade County,but not many anywhere else.I checked through all of these families but didn't find a Newton.Was he born in 1850? I am sorry that I couldn't be of more help to you. I looked to see if they were in other counties in 1850 but nothing turned up, I will check again for you a little while later and see if any thing turns up.
