    3. Sandra and Grant Co list, Can you or ANYONE on this list help me with my DUNN family: JAMES MILNER (THOMAS) was born Bet. 1798 - 1802 in KY, and died February 26, 1884 in Madison,Greenwood Co.,Ks., he married MARY DUNN December 30, 1823 in HARRISON, KY, daughter of SAMUEL DUNN and SARAH (DUNN). She was born 1799 in KY, and died February 14, 1864 in Hays Cem.,Brown Twp.,Hancock Co.,Indiana. ^^^I'm not positive that the parents of Mary DUNN who married JAMES MILNER are indeed: SAMUEL DUNN and SARAH (DUNN)...as I listed...these names were found on the marriage bond ####Does anyone know of a DUNN family expert esp. Harrison, Pendleton, Grant Co., KY area that I might contact?? I suspect that some of the DUNNS who lived in Grant Co... had settled there with the Milner clan of Harrison Co. Thank you for all the wonderful info!! Don

    3. Joy, I have been so busy typing I didn't realize you are doing lookups!!! Fun Huh?? What counties do you have. I am DESPERATELY trying to find Perlina Groves. (could be Paulina) or any variation) Her mother died after she was born around 1852. I cannot find her in the 1860 or 1870 census. Her father George Groves has remarried Wolfe and she is not with him. (mothers name is McLain frm Harrison) She would be approx 8 or 18 living with another family. I found her sister Priscilla with Ben Robinson in 1860. If you run across her please, please let me know. Have been searching for two years. Thanks a million. Sandy

    2. Hi Sandra, I don't know if you received my Webb request. I posted to this site because it may, at sometime, help someone else. Please let me know if you received it. I ordered 6 books, should receive them mid Oct. Eventually I will get them all. No one seems to be researching the Henry Ashcraft/Sarah Hicks family (with the exception of me), but if any one is interested, I talked, via real telephone, last night, who is writing a book about Ashcraft's from Grant Co. that moved to Ark. His line is from the oldest son of Henry Ashcraft (son of James Richard, grandson of Jediah), namely, Henry Kelly Ashcraft. Being the oldest son, he acquired all the Ashcraft "stuff". He promised to send me pictures of Henry and Sarah and various other data. In return, I am sending him pension records for James Richard, and lots of other "stuff". If anyone is interested, let me know and I will pass them along. Now, for a murder concerning people that has already been mentioned on this list; I talked with my mom a few minutes ago, she was born and raised in Grant Co.; She gave me details, albeit limited, about such a murder that did take place in the early 1940's. I will relate this, but only in private if any one is interested. My e-mail is bonsnow@aol.com.

    3. Bonnie, I don't think I am going to be able to be of much help tp you,but I will tell you what I found. I found a Newton P. Thompson in 1860 in Callensville Pendleton County in 1860 on page 499. I also found a Newton in Harrison County in 1870 on page 163.It doesn't give family members.I also typed in Thompson since we don't have his parents names and I found a bunch of Thompson's in Meade County, but not many anywhere else.I checked through all of these families but didn't find a Newton. Was he born in 1850? I am sorry that I couldn't be of more help to you. I looked to see if they were in other counties in 1850 but nothing turned up, I will check again for you a little while later and see if any thing turns up. 3. Sandra, I'm kind of late coming in on the lookups, have just been viewing everyone elses. While in Grant Co. in June I couldn't find a marriage for the following and haven't been able to find my grandfather at all with the exception of the 1900 census. William Riley HALE b 20 June 1873 Grant Co d 21 Aug 1953 Grant Co. His parents were supposedly, according to the death certf., John W. HALE & Sarah MULLINIX (sp. ?). According to his obit, his parents died when he was young leaving he and a brother, Dee HALE, to be raised by an aunt & uncle. There was also a story about the father, John W. HALE, deserting the family and the mother dying. Wm. Riley HALE married my grandmother, Ida Morehead, who was the granddaughter of Robert William Ashcraft. I'll ask about the Morehead line later. I have the census available, but nothing else that pertains to the area. Thanks, Janice Hale Oliver -----Original Message----- From: Sandra Burbridge <burbridg@sr66.com> To: KYGRANT-L@rootsweb.com <KYGRANT-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, July 23, 1999 11:44 PM Subject: [KYGRANT-L] County Records >I just joined the list and sent my Groves outline in the other day.
