Judie: I am descended from her also. Her daughter Sarah A. (Sallie) married Lewis Stephens in 1843. Lewis and Sallie had a son named William Lewis who was my grandfather's father. Anna Stephens (sister of Lewis) married John M. Draper, son of Susannah Wren Landrum. I know two people who are connected with the Pendleton County Historical Society who are related to this family and do not have email. Write to: Mildred Belew RR1 Bpx 157 Aa
<Elizabeth frakes married to Richard Landrum, their daughter Susan Landrum married James Edward Penick. > Yes, please. I would anything you have on Landrum. I descend from Sarah Wren Landrum. Judie in gorgeous Oregon
Kathryn Salyers of Carrollton, Kentucky is descended from the Salyers of Grant County. Please send more information including your name and address and your line of descent and I'll be happy to see what she has. She will definitely want to know who you are and what further information you have about your part of the family. She has a lot of family information, including some photographs. I can tell you now that Everette was the son of James Francis Salyers and Bettie Parrant, that James Francis was the son of George W. Salyers and his first wife, Mary Ann Francis Bell. George W. Salyers's father was probably Isaac Salyers, married to a second or later wife, Mary Myers or Miers. Mary Myers was the daughter of Melchior Miers of Lexington. Kathryn Salyers is descended from George W. Salyers and his second wife, Sarah Spoonmore. My son and I are going to Portland the middle of September. I just checked out their web site and there is a lot to do. You should have a great time! Judie
Bonnie - I am four hours south of Portland. It is a lovely small city with lots of art and music and good food, especially fish if you like it. It is warm here but not hot (at the moment), cools off in the evenings but you won't need a sweater. Have fun! Thanks for the Clark stuff. Nothing fits yet, but it will! Judie in Oregon
Am searching for family and ancestors. Everett Salyers was my paternal grandfather. His wife's maiden name was Collett. Everett's sons were Johnson, Walter T. R. , Robert, Emmett, and Leland.

<It is canopied by wonderful old trees, in the corner of their front lawn, next to a small pond. > It must be wonderful to live with history like that. And isn't it nice to know that somewhere they are not paving our heritage over with parking lots? I should have more information on these folks in about a month. My researcher has time for me the middle of August. The Grant County Courthouse doesn't sound like a wonderful place to do research... Thanks, Bonnie. Judie in wonderful Oregon
<Oops, I just found the answer in New Family/Sipple Family by Beryl S. Litsey.> Warren: 1) is that book available for purchase? 2) I was reading marriage licenses yesterday and found Sarah Sipple m. James Littell 18 Nov 1833. It caused me to wonder exactly the same question. Who was her mother? 3) I found the answer about messages wrapping/not wrapping. If I write from Outlook Express 5.0 the message wraps; if I use 'reply' it write in whatever format the original message came in. 4) Deep Roots is more than 600 pages long - it would be hard to photocopy. Maybe the KY Historical Society would know where there was a copy... Cousin Judie

Hi; The problem with the Grant County Courthouse is that it's very small so space is limited. They do have lots of records; I found the death cert# for my maternal grandmother there. But, there is no way to print/copy the information. I still believe the best source is the main Kenton County Library in Covington. They have lots of space, lots of machines to use, and books from all over Ky. It's quiet and relaxing. I go there everytime I go home for a visit. I do know a researcher in the Greater Cincinnati area who does research in Ky; if you want her website I'll send it. Pat WA State
I forgot, Where do you live in Oregon? Monica and family are going there Friday. Actually Seattle and Portland. Her husband has some type of Law Seminar. Bonnie
Hi Judie, Your welcome! I talked with Monica yesterday and as usual, she was BUSY! She said she would ask her son, Boston, to copy down what is written on the tombstones when he got home from riding his bike. He didn't call me back so I guess he didn't get around to doing it; he's only eleven. I'll call them later today and see if there has been any progress. Take care, Bonnie
