1. Re: [KYGRANT-L] 1858 Grant County Atlas
2. Hi Pat and Everyone, I bought the hard back book and I highly recommend it! It is a large very easy to read book and has an index! I just love it! I also highly recommend the books available through the Grant County Historical Society! That's where the information came from that Sandra and I gave several of you. Janet Pease Abstract Court Records Volumes I through 13; there are three Cemetery Books and Several Newspaper Abstract books. You can contact the Historical Society for a complete list of their holdings. Bonnie

1. [KYGRANT-L] 1858 Grant County Atlas
2. I HIGHLY recommend the 1858 Grant County Atlas if your have people in Grant Co. at that time. The index is wonderful. I found the property of our gg-grandfather and how it was divided among his heirs. I got my newsprint copy at the Grant County News. (Ken STONE is a great help). I plan to order the book for durability. Instructions for ordering are on the LOOK-UP page of the new website. Grant County, Kentucky Pat

1. [KYGRANT-L] Re: BAKER, John m. Cynthia Hutchinson, 1817
2. I found this on another message board. We have BAKER in Grant, Pendleton, and Harrison Counties KY but not back this far; therefore it is possible that it could be in our tree. Can anyone tie in? Pat P.S. Is it permissable to submit such messages if there could be a connection to this list? Some lists don't want them. << Subject: BAKER, John m. Cynthia Hutchinson, 1817 From: ishie23105@aol.com (Ishie23105) Date: 12 Sep 1999 14:26:26 EDT John Baker was born in NC ca 1796, joined army in KY and served 5 years during War of 1812. Returning to Madison Co., KY, he married Cynthia Hutchinson. They lived and apparently died in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY. I would like to know parents of each one -- but am especially interested in their daughter, MALINDA MARTHA BAKER, who married George W. Coleman in WV. Just about anything will fill in a blank for this family. Thanks with my blessings. Ethel Adams EthlSAdams@aol.com >>

3. Hello Don, I'm been working on the Abraham Dunn that you show as a descendant on Samuel Dunn. How much do you have on this Dunn line from Samuel. I've got lots of Dunn's that don't seem to connect anywhere and maybe they fit into these other lines from Samuel. Where did you find the info on Samuel and his children? Was it from relatives? Any ideas if Samuel was from KY or another state? 1. [KYGRANT-L] William Taylor & Agnes Rogers, Owen & Grant Co., KY
2. Jim Mason
3. I am seeking information on William Taylor, b. abt. 1815 in KY and his wife, Agnes Rogers, b. abt 1828 in KY. They either lived in the Keefer area of Grant Co. or in the Canby area which is just across Three Forks Creek that separates Grant Co. from Owen Co. Because of the age difference between William and Agnes and the ages of some of their older children, it is possible (or probable) that Agnes was the 2nd wife of William. I am trying to determine if this William was the son of Parker Taylor and Betsey Farr who had a son named William. I am also seeking the names of the children of William & Agnes. I have 6 children: Margaret, b. abt. 1841; Nancy, b. abt. 1843; Turner, b. abt. 1846; Sarah, b. abt. 1849; Mary, b. aft. 1850; and Maranda (my grandmother), b. 02/26/1852 who was married 02/15/1871 to John Anderson Mason. I believe that there may have been more than 6 children. Jim Mason [mailto:cousin@jett-mason.com]

3. Secure to me, Cathy. And I like it because you can type in a last name and see the all census indexes for that name or all the marriages on line or all of whatever. It really helps when folks are moving around and it helps to see which Jones is living next door to which Smith. Go for it! Judie

2. Several people have asked me about EADS in Grant Co. I found an ancestral file on http://www.familysearch.org/ that has what I think is our Lewis WOLFE-Lucinda ASBURY in it. This file has this couple with one child, George Washington WOLFE b. 1872. Our grandfather, James H. WOLFE (s/o our Lewis and Lucinda) had a brother George W. WOLFE. We have no info on our George W. except that 1872 is very possible as a birth year. Their George Washington WOLFE m. Mary Icy DUGAN. Their daughter Vinnie Lee WOLFE m. Raymond Carl William EADS in Maysville, Mason Co., KY 2/25/1928. The EADS go back to VA to 1776. search for Thomas Bailey EADS. And PLEASE keep me posted. Pat WOLFE
