Author: JackMurphy49 Surnames: MURPHY Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.garrard/3933/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to locate some online maps of early Garrard County, specifically Precinct Number 2. My MURPHY kinfolk lived in that area. My G5 Grandfather, John MURPHY arrived in Kentucky (originally in Lincoln County) in the Fall of 1779 and stayed in the Scott Station (camp area) until around 1783 when he settled about 2 miles from Scott Station to area called Back Creek (used to be referred to as Wooley's Fork of Paint Lick. Also, does anyone have a list of the original families that settled at Scott's Station, and what was Mr. Scott's first name? I have an affadavit for a court case involving Vancleave versus Todd filed 15 Mar 1819. The disposition was transcribed on 18 Feb 1819. Any help would be appreciated.
