My children wanted me to do a family tree for them and I found out my Grandfather's real name was Fenice Dailey from Garrad County KY. I always knew him as John Davis. Which sparked my interest as to why he changed his name and moved to Ohio in 1910. He was born July 6 1883 in Garrad. #4 Most of my feelings have stayed about the same only much more interested in genealogy than I ever thought I would be. #5 Internet, Libraries, genealogy Clubs. #6 Very Surprised and shocked quite often and very saddened at times. # 7 LDS (free site), Libraries. Genealogy Clubs on the Internet. # 8 Get all the information you can from relatives while they are still alive. I have no one to ask since all of my family has long ago passed away. Also have family write on the back of old pictures who the people are. Good Luck to you. BTW One of my Dailey ancestors from Garrad married a Simpson.
