He was not the Lt. that Calico had him credited as being. He was in Ky. Co.Va. surveying in 1778 and was on many military operations as the team horse wagonmaster with George Rogers Clark and also with Col. Benjamin Logan and the Kentucky and Lincoln County Militia, one of the original justices when Kentucky county was formed and Kentucky was made a state, a senator and congressman. Thornton K.Thompson was his son and James J. was his grandson. I have a different story on how he ended his and his families life in Mississippi. Thanks Harold W. Rarden, Flemingsburg, Ky.
