Your g uncle Squire Level was the slave owner of my ggrandfather Daniel. He took him to Camp Nelson July, 1865 to enlist in the United States Colored Troops. In order for African Americans to adequately research their slave ancestors it is necessary to research the slave owners. Do you have any info on Squire specifically? Can we talk?
