This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xAB.2ACI/2186.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Did you mean the 1860 census? The only online census sources I know of are through Heritage Quest, a library subscription service (you might check with your area libaries to see if they subscribe) and the paid services such as ancestry.com which I have never used. Other sites sell CDs of such material. The LDS has many census and other records on microfilm. Search their catalog at familysearch.org or stop by your local LDS Family History Center. They have very helpful volunteers at most of their centers. Some county rootsweb sites have posted some of their own censuses - you would have to search for them. I would suggest an advanced Google search on the county and state, the year and the word census. Beware of commerical sites... This site has a census index for 1860 Garrard Co.: ftp://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/ky/garrard/1860/ Finally, there are the branches of the National Archives if you happen to be lucky enough to live near one of them (K.C. MO, Ft.Worth TX, Atlanta GA, and a couple of others out west I think, plus D.C., of course. (You can probably find them all listed at archives.gov). Good luck!
