    1. [KYGARRAR] Descendants of James and Elizabeth BAKER
    2. E.A. Kaspar
    3. James BAKER, b. in VA. abt. 1763, married Elizabeth Fuqua(?), moved to Garrard Co., KY. abt. 1783. Of their many children born in Garrard Co., as listed by Joan Colbert Gioe, some have never been traced. Those for whom I have NO information and am seeking are: Allen b. 1788 Bassel b. 1806 Bingin b. 179? (Four children are listed as being born in 1796, so can't be correct.) David b.179? Hiram b. 1799 William b. 1804 Those children who have been traced are: Beverly b. 1792 mar. Isabel Sneed Henrietta M. b. 1793 mar. William H. Hubbard, moved to S. IND. Henry b. 179? mar. 3. Here are some possible Bassel (sp.?) Bakers, relatives, namesakes, etc. from the census indexes I have. I don't have 1830-1850 which would have been a big help, esp. 1850. Let me know if one of these is a likely candidate for yours and I can look up his census details. BAKER BAZEL KY MADISON RICHMOND 1810 BAKER BAZEL JR KY MADISON RICHMOND 1810 BAKER BASSEL VA BEDFORD SOUTHERN DISTRICT 1820 BAKER BAZEL KY MADISON NO TWP LISTED 1820 BAKER BAZEL KY MADISON NO TWP LISTED 1820 BAKER BASEL 53 M W OH IL PEORIA TIMBER 1860 BAKER BAZZEL 54 M W KY KY MADISON KINGSTON P O 1860 BAKER BAZZEL 63 M W KY KY MADISON ROGERSVILLE P O 1860 BAKER BASIL 60 M W KY KY MADISON KIRKSVILLE PCT 1870 And this one is too young to be yours, but a Pvt. Basil Baker served in Co. E of the 47th KY Mounted Inf. (US) in the Civil War. There are no given names Binjin indexed with any surname in KY and no Binjin Bakers anywhere in the US in any census to which I have an index. I suspect he was a Benjamin, of whom there are many. He may also be listed under B. or Ben Baker, or his other given name, or even a nickname. Or he may have died young, or it could be a very bad transcription of some other name altogether <sigh>. --- "E.A.
