Several sites are offering county histories on CDs. For instance, I have ordered Boone County, MO from Hearthstone Legacy. Are such CDs available anywhere for Gerrard County, KY? I would like to locate a Garrard County history to see if I can jumpstart my long search for PETER DAVIS, born in Garrard County, Sep 18, 1832. Perhaps Davis lines in the History will lead me to my g grandparents parents or siblings. Thanks John Overfelt
john, the name Peter Davis does noy appear in the best known History of Garrard County. At least does not appear in the index that I compiled for the history part of Forrest Calico;s book. I did not compile an index for the Church part. Also, I do not find a Peter Davis in the 1850 census for Garrard Co. which certainly would have revealed him in a household if he still was a resident of the county. I also checked the 1850 census for both Lincoln and Madison Cos. To my knowledge, there is no history of the county on CD as it is believed that the one who holds the rights to the Calico book has yet to republish. But I do not believe it would be of any help to you.
