Dear Fellow Listers: I am seeking assistance in straightening out two twisted together Harris families: Per "The Harris Family and Others" by Milus King Harris (1928): A Tyree Rodes Harris (son of Capt. Robert Harris and Lucretia Brown) married Sophy Herd. Tyree and Sophy begot Brightberry, John, Susan, Elijah, Annie and Bettie. The book further states that _Annie married Samuel McMullan of Garrard Co._ Per the will of (presumably another) Tyree Harris dated 1832, this Tyree had a wife named Rachel and sons Overton, Elijah, Russell, and daughters Patsy, Josephine, and _Ann McMullan. _Is it a coincidence that two Tyree Harris's each had daughters named Ann/Annie who married men named McMullan, or did two separate families claimed the same marriage, or were they the same men, or perhaps there is another explanation? Your help straightening out this confusion would be most appreciated. As a post script, any assistance with the marriage between the first Tyree Harris and Sophy Herd would also be welcome and also most appreciated.
