john, the name Peter Davis does noy appear in the best known History of Garrard County. At least does not appear in the index that I compiled for the history part of Forrest Calico;s book. I did not compile an index for the Church part. Also, I do not find a Peter Davis in the 1850 census for Garrard Co. which certainly would have revealed him in a household if he still was a resident of the county. I also checked the 1850 census for both Lincoln and Madison Cos. To my knowledge, there is no history of the county on CD as it is believed that the one who holds the rights to the Calico book has yet to republish. But I do not believe it would be of any help to you. John, in addition to the "look" for Peter Davis that Gerald Tudor has done for you, I looked at the entire 1850 U.S. census. There is only 1 Peter Davis, born in KY, but born 1841 - and living in Pulaski County KY in 1850. So, if he was actually born in 1832, maybe he was born somewhere other than Kentucky. Do you have access to a census search engine? Mary Alice ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com
Several sites are offering county histories on CDs. For instance, I have ordered Boone County, MO from Hearthstone Legacy. Are such CDs available anywhere for Gerrard County, KY? I would like to locate a Garrard County history to see if I can jumpstart my long search for PETER DAVIS, born in Garrard County, Sep 18, 1832. Perhaps Davis lines in the History will lead me to my g grandparents parents or siblings. Thanks John Overfelt

The obit of Bluford Martin said he had 2 sisters living; were those girls' given names mentioned in the 1900, etc censuses of this family? One was Annie, the other Lillie. ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

For those of you interested...go to the Vockery link below and if you take off order form.htm you will come up with the Vockery family page. You will find a picture of Kathy and husband Colonel Bill Vockery. The Bill listed on the left hand side is their son Bill, who was in band at Madison Central H.S. with my son. Col Bill was involved with the ROTC at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. In 2004 or 5 their other son, whose name escapes me now, and his wife were lost at sea in a boating accident. Does anyone know if that was ever resolved in some meaningful way. Christine M.
