(I am not a Humprhey - Fathergill researcher.) They are in the 1910 census, but it is almost illegible. HUMPHREY FLOYD M W KY KY GARRARD BUCKEYE 1910 He is a farmer, age 30, Vada 26, md. 12 yrs, with 8 children, 8 living: son Herbert 11, son ??? 8 (name illegible), daus Lulah 8, Mary 7, Pearl 7, and Nannie (Minnie?) 4, son Delbert? Here are some clues: In the 1910 census, he is 39, a farmer, his mother Millie (or Miller?) is living with him. She was 60, widowed, had had 5 (or 6?) children, 4 were still living. She and her parents were b KY, as were Admiral's, according to this census. (He is listed in the index as Adwin J., but looking at the actual image, it appears to be Admiral.) HOUSE ADWIN J M W KY KY GARRARD 1-PCT 1910 Here he is in 1920: HOUSE ADMIRIAL 48 M W KY KY GARRARD COURT HOUSE 1-DIST 1920 He is 48, single, farmer, and living with him is a brother-in-law named Sites?, Siles? or Liles? CAYSE. I suppose this could be a sister's widowed husband since Admiral doesn't seem to have md. or had children. Have you seen the SSDI entry for him, under Admoral? --- Nancy Perry <[email protected]> wrote: > Does anyone know who the parents of Admoral > Jackson > House (born 1870 Garrard and died 1966 Lincoln > Co) were? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I couldn't find this message on the board, so am sending reply to list. There are a LOT of Saylors in KY, and a lot of Silases in particular. Here are some of them. From the 1860 census: SAYLOR SILAS W 23 M W KY KY HARLAN Co., HARLAN C H P O (C H is for Courthouse) On same page is John Saylor 25 and Levi Saylor 20. In 1870, there are two Silases in KY: SAYLOR SILAS 39 M W KY KY HARLAN WALLINS CRK P O SAYLOR SILAS W 32 M W KY KY HARLAN CALLAWAY P O On same page as the 2nd one is a John A. Saylor with a 6 yr old named Silas W. By 1910, there are 4 Silas Saylors in the census index: SAYLOR SILAS M W KY KY LAUREL PITTSBURG SAYLOR SILAS M W KY KY LESLIE MARROWBONE SAYLOR SILAS W M W KY KY HARLAN WALLINS CRK SAYLOR SILAS W M W KY KY HARLAN FORESTERS CRK The second one of these seems to be yours. He is 32, with wife Hettie 38, sons Silas Jr. 11, H. L. 9, Wallan 3, Garret 1 yr. 2 mos., all b KY. In 1920, SAYLOR SILAS L 41 M W KY KY LESLIE MARROWBONE 1920 He is 41, listed with Hettie 47, sons Walen and Garret, and daus Casie 8, Ethel 8, and Malisia 6. Next door is son Silas Jr. 21, and family. SAYLOR H L 19 M W KY KY HARLAN SALTS 8 B-PCT 1920 H. L. and wife Alice, also 19, live on a farm and he is a laborer at the coal mines. In the 1880 census, on familysearch.org, there is only one Silas in KY near the birth date of yours. He is 6 mos. old, son of John M. 19, whose wife at that time is Jane, 27. They were in Harlan Co. No way to tell if Jane is the mother. --- [email protected] wrote: > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for any info on Silas Saylor > b.1878.d 1943. > Mother Sarah Saylor,f unknown. Thanks, I would like to know if any one has any information on John Bassett who came to Garrard County in the latter 1790's with his brother Abner of whom I am a descendant. John was listed in the 1820 census for Garrard Co & in 1830 in Mercer County. He had some sons I would like to know their names if possible and who they married. I would be glad to pay any one to do the research for me in either Garrard or Madison Co. Thanks Charles Bassett
