The 1880 Franklin County Census for Bald Knob has on page 4 , line 8, the MILTON MOORE family. Line 15 has the LETHA MOORE family. Are these two families related? A little background. My great uncle OBEDIAH MOORE will marry MALISSA MOORE the daughter of LETHA MOORE on 12 OCT 1873. This will be the second marriage for both. On 5 JUN 1876, OBEDIAH MOORE dies and in buried in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church cemetery, grave #317. On 2 DEC 1883, SUSAN MOORE the daughter of MILTON MOORE dies and is buried in the same cemetery, grave #319. This has led some to believe that OBEDIAH and SUSAN were married. Not so. OBEDIAH MOORE and MALISSA MOORE had one child, a daughter MILDRED. OBEDIAH had a son, GARRETT, born to his first wife ELIZABETH YOUNG. MELISSA had a daughter by her first husband, WILLIAM RUSSELL. After OBEDIAH'S death, MALISSA married James FINNEY and had several more children. By 1880, OBEDIAH'S children are living with JAMES WAKEFIELD and his wife SARAH JANE MOORE, OBEDIAH'S sister. On the same census page, line 26, is the FRANCIS KERBY family. FRANCIS KERBY'S wife LUCY, happens to be the sister of JAMES WAKEFIELD.
