John Cunningham married Sally Hickman in Franklin County, KY in 1799. She was the daughter of William Hickman, a Baptist minister. I am seeking John's parents. I have seen this reference "Birth 1776 in Cumberland, Cumberland, Virginia, USA" in someone's online family tree, but it is unproven though I suspect he did come from Virginia as did most of the folks in that part of KY at that time. There are lots of John Cunninghams in early Virginia records, but I have no idea how to identify my John from all of those. John and Sally had 2 sons, Fountain and William, who moved to Henderson County, KY about 1824 just after John's death. Both sons are well documented in Henderson. Any ideas about finding John's ancestry will be greatly appreciated. Sue Russell
