Ms. Minter, Noticed your last name, Minter, which interested me very much. My GGGGM was Elizabeth Croxton, who was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Minter Croxton. Elizabeth married Jesse Meshew, and they ended up in the Jackson Purchase area, around 1830-1840. Have you traced the Minter name? If you have do you have it all the way back into VA?
