Brenda, It's my understanding that there are a lot of paupers buried in the Green Hill Cemetery. When a homeless or "down on their luck" person died and no one came forward to give them a decent farewell the city would bury them in Greenhill without a funeral or a headstone. If you and Anne would like some help on gathering names for the cemetery I would be happy to take a few or the years and go throught the death certificates on microfilm to look for burials in Greenhill for you. By the way, my daughter wants a Frankfort Cemetery book, are there any available out there somewhere? Yes, there are still Frankfort cemetery indexes, but not sure about the books. Thanks for your offer. Any help we can garner will be deeply appreciated. Hello Lynda: I have a copy of both the book about burials in the Frankfort Cemetery (the one published by the Ky. Gen. Soc. in 1988 and one published in 2005 by the Frankfort Cemetery). The one published by the Frankfort Cemetery lists all burials through that date, even those without gravemarkers. Copies should still be available directly from the cemetery office; I think my soft cover book cost about $20 (or maybe $35??? I can't remember). I would be happy to do lookups from my books.
