If you only have one research day, I would recommend the Kentucky Historical Society. We have researched in many states, and KHS is one of the best places we have found. They have information on the entire state. The staff is friendly and helpful without standing over your shoulder. You can take a laptop or binder in, but no purses, briefcases, etc. They have lockers conveniently located. You have to put a quarter in, but it comes out when you unlock it. Check out their website for hours, etc.: http://history.ky.gov/ Sandy in California ----- Original Message ----- From: "Beta Wolf" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 14, 2006 7:35 PM Subject: [KYFRANKL] researching in central KY :I would also like to know where the best place to do research in the Frankfort area. We are planning a trip in July and we're only going to have a week. of course, well have to fit in the relatives during that time, but I'd like to hit at least one of the genealogy places and find some good info. My ancestors are mostly from franklin, owen, woodford, and pendleton counties..... I would appreciate any advice anyone out there has on where the best places to go would be, and what information each has, that the others might not...... : thanks : beta wolf, chugiak alaska : :
