    2. Hi Everyone, I am writing this to prepare others of what they might be up against in the future. A friend of mine went to the microfilm room at the William T. Young Library over at the University of Kentucky today. She wanted to copy some old newspaper articles. This evening she emailed to inform me that they now have new readers, new printers, and they charge ten cents a copy. (this used to be free of charge) Now you need to buy a vend card for a dollar to use on all the copies. The ten cents wasn't a problem.....but the only vend card machine on that floor was out of order. The students that were working today were not experienced enough with all the new equipment to help her learn how to operate them. Sad to say.....my friend traveled a pretty good piece for this trip and returned home empty handed and frazzled.

    3. Hello List: Since you are messaging to the Franklin Co, KY list, I assume you are aware that Frankfort (Franklin Co), KY is only about a half hour away from the Wm. T Young Library at the Univ of KY in Lexington, KY (Fayette Co). My question: What did your friends expect to find at the Univ. of Ky Library that is not available in Frankfort at the Kentucky Historical Society? If somebody from out of state is going to visit central KY, which place is better for genealogical research? What unique information might be at each place? Thanks! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 13, 2006 2:06 AM Subject: [KYFRANKL] William T.
