    3. The following is a great site for finding help looking up death certificates. Kentucky death certificates are on microfilm from 1911-1953. The indexes are online in ancestry.com and rootsweb. Check the following site for someone who will look up and/or copy the certificate for you. Also, there is a microfilm of Franklin Co. deaths prior to that period. That is a little more time consuming to check, but, maybe you would have luck finding someone at RAOGK.com (random acts of genealogical kindness). http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyjeffer/lookups/researchers.html ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 02, 2005 11:23 AM Subject: [KYFRANKL] RODMANS & WILSONS : Looking for Parents or any information on James Rodman who married Florance Garrard 12-23-1873 Franklin Co. 1. Ruby Hawkins Honaker, daughter of Lea Rodgers and Oscar K. Hawkins, grandaughter of Dr. J.F. Rodgers, are you still out there?
    2. David Middleton Edelen II
    3. Hello all, I am searching for Ruby Hawkins Honaker, if she is still alive. She is/was the daughter of Leona "Lea" Rodgers, b. 1882 in Clifton, Woodford Co., Ky and Oscar Keith Hawkins (Lea and Oscar both supposedly died in the 1950s in Franklin/Anderson, Ky.). Ruby married a Mr. Mallie M. Honaker. She came to visit her cousins, my mom and uncle, in Prattville, Alabama way back in the late 1950s or 1960s. I don't remember her buy my oldest sister says she looked an awful lot like my mom and my uncle, Eliz. Carolina Rodgers and John Wm Rodgers. Besides Ruby Lea and Oscar had Oscar Fleming Hawkins who married a Connie Brandon. Any info on these people would be greatly appreciated. I also have a list of cousins and what have you that lived in Midway, Ky. back around the turn of the century and early 1900s, but have had no luck contacting any. 3. Hello, I was wondering if there were any descendents out there that might know anything about Lea Rodgers Hawkins the wife of Oscar Keith Hawkins? She was born Leona "Lee" Rodgers, b. 1882 in Clifton, Woodford Co., Ky.-- (Deathdate is unsure, but some info on the KyGenWeb said she died 7/20/1951 in Franklin/Anderson, Ky.). She married a Mr. Oscar Keith Hawkins, b. (?)--(Death info came from same source as his wife Lee's) D. 3/13/1959 in Franklin/Anderson, Ky. Some old Postcards dated around 1932 to and from Lena and her brother Lester were postmarked to Mrs. O. K. Hawkins, Lawrenceburg, Ky.. Lester called her "Lea". Issue: (A) Oscar Fleming Hawkins-m-Connie Brandon, (B) Ruby Hawkins-m-Mallie M. Honaker. One source says that "Lea" and Oscar lived in Pikesville, Ky. possibly around 1929.

    3. Hello all, Below is an excerpt from my Rodgers file, a part of the 1850 census for Scott Co., Ky. showing the family of one Thomas Rodgers. Actually it is part of an e-mail that Jeff Jeppson sent me, but I have lost his e-mail address. But in the list of the children of Thomas there is a John F. Rodgers, aged 20 and listed as a laborer. Now I have been trying to find out the parents of my great grandfather Dr. John Fleming Rodgers (1830-1902). The age is correct but I have no documented proof that it is my John F. Rodgers. Another clue is that Dr. John F. Rodgers' obituary says he was born in Boubon County and note that at the end of the message he mentions Thomas dying in Bourbon Co.. And another question is why they had him listed as a laborer in his own family? I always thought that a son would be listed as a farmer like his dad and they only listed someone as a laborer like that only if they were like a hired hand or an otherwise non family member? Also, Dr. John F. Rodgers' 1900 census record says his parents, while un-named, were from Virginia. Why oh why could not this 1900 census or more especially his obit not have named his parents?!? That is odd to me for someone's obituary not to name who their parents were! Anyway, any help or info would be greatly appreciated. See info below- Sincerely, David Edelen Millbrook, Al. -------------------------------- A POSSIBLE MENTION OF DR. JOHN FLEMING RODGERS' PARENTS from a note from Jeff Jeppson of Ky.: ---------------------- In the 1850 Scott County Kentucky Census, there is a Thomas Rogers age 48 with a wife named Mary age 42 listed with a son named John F. Rogers age 20. Here is the Census Listing District 2 Scott County Kentucky Thomas Rogers 48 farmer Mary 42 John F. 20 laborer Joseph H. 18 Silas (W)? 16 Thomas P. 13 Benjamin F. 7 A. L. 5 Eliza 11/12 Now there are other Children listed in the 1860 Census and later and I can obtain those listings if it turns out that this is your family. On the Ancestry.com listings for Thomas Rogers, there is a listing for what I believe is this person. It states on this one Tree that this Thomas Rogers died around 1888 in Bourbon County Kentucky. It only has the Eliza Listed about as Elizabeth Frances Rogers. --------------------------------

    2. James R Carr
    3. Hi, I'm searching for info on Larkin Carr. He appears in 1810 on the census, buys property, and enlists in the virginia militia in 1812. All at Dumfries in Prince William Cty VA. after 1814 he moves to Woodford Cty KY and by 1830 is in Frankfort KY. In 1810 he has a boy and a girl around 16 that can't be his, as he is only 27. He also has 2 boys under 10 the youngest being my gggranfather born in 1808. By 1820 0nly the two younger boys remain. On at twelve and an older one between 16 and 26. By 1830 only my ggranfather remains and he marries in 1835 and takes off. In 1810 there was only one Larkin Carr in the whole country. Around 1840 or 1850 a 2nd one appears down in GA as I recall and that family as I remember moves to TX. Also arround 1860 a Larkin Carr surfaces out in the Ohio area. I'm sure all these guys are related somehow. Probably from the three unamed children and or syblings that moved on between 1810 and 1830. Any Ideas or tips? Thanks Jim Carr [email protected] http://www.carr-genealogy.com

I thought that perhaps if I could find any descendents of the above girls, my great aunts, that besides meeting a long lost relative I might find out some info on our Rodgers line. I have all the information on Dr. Rodgers but have yet to find out his parents' name or of course the family line. The 1900 census says they were from Va but no names.
