He was born in Tram, Floyd County, on July 14, 1932, and was a self-employed landscaper and owner of Star Lawn. He enjoyed spending time at Scioto Downs and harness racing. He was preceded in death by his parents: Wyatt & Mae (Dixon) Adkins; a sister, Irene Lewis; his brothers, Everett, Burns, and Earl; ex-wife, Jenny Caldwell; a granddaughter, Amanda Daniel; and a son, Robert Keith Adkins. He is survived by his loving children: Danny Ray (Cassie) Adkins of Tram, Mary (Ray) Pinion of Tram, Gerri (Don) Daniel of Plain City; a brother, Raymond (Luci) Adkins of Linthicum, Maryland; his sisters: Vivian Akers of Plain City, Ruth Hall of Ashland; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special mentions: Ray and Loretta Culwell, Dock Akers, Gary, Connie and Deanna. The family received friends Sunday, 4-8 p.m., at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Rt. 161W), Plain City where the funeral was held Monday, November 17, at 1:30 pm.
