Cora and Riley appear in the 1930 Floyd Co., Ky census in District 2, ages 42 and 45 respectively. Also in the household were children Della age 18, Elbert 17, John, 12, Sally, 9, Cyntha, 7, and Carl, 4 (b. 14 June 1925). Next door is Kelly Haywood, age 20 and wife Gladys. There are a lot of Haywoods listed in Floyd Co., in 1920. Cora is listed with Riley and was living on Middle Creek. Riley is 38 and Cora is 35. Also listed in the household is Charley 15, Bob 13, Kelly10 , Zella 7, Elbert 6, Anna, 4 3/12, Johnie, 1 9/12, and Sallie, 3 months. There are a lot of Slone's living in the area. The 1910 census of Floyd Co. lists Cora, widowed, with children Mary 7, Charley 5, Bob 3, and Kelly 2 months. (very faint, hard to read). She had given birth to 6 children with only the 4 listed living. She is living next door to parents Allen and Sarah. The 1900 census of Floyd Co. lists a Lewis P. Haywood living with his mother Sarah J. Haywood. Lewis was born July 1875. Also in the household was a daughter, Mousie. Sarah had given birth to 12 children with 11 still alive. A few households away is H. W. and Elizabeth Haywood listed with children Simon, Cora, Charles B., John, and a step-son John Miller, a brother George Haywood, and sister Sarah Haywood. The 1900 census also lists a Cora Slone born July 1882, daughter of Allen and Sarah Slone. Also listed in the household were Richmond, Daisy, Harrison, and Charley. Riley was born 27 July 1882 in Floyd Co., the son of William "Bill" Prater and Anna "Coon" Goodman. He died 9 Oct 1948, of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was widowed. He was buried at Blue River, and the informant on his death certificate is Johnny Prater.
