Born April 6, 1930 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Travis and Jane Slone she had been a resident of Kentucky moving to Shelby in 1951. Willa had worked at AMF and retired from Midwest Industries in Willard, OH. Willa was a member of the Lifepoint Community Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband and traveling back to Kentucky to visit family. Survivors include her step-son, James (Tammy) Mitchell of Ashland, OH; one brother, Carl (Barb) Slone of Shelby, Ohio, her sister-in-law, Helen (Ivan) King of Plymouth, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy R. Mitchell in 2011; four brothers, Harold, Elmer, Charles and Onis Slone and one sister, Ethel Tooker. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby, Ohio, with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
