He was associated with a Merrie (Mary?) Kiser and both were known to stay in Catlettsburg, Ky, at times. Also associated with this group is a Mrs. Ellen Devore. Jim (James I. Devore, b 1875) and Ellen (b 1888) lived in Cabell Co., WV, in 1920 and may have moved to Charleston, Kanawha County, WV during the 1920s. They had three children in 1920 (Willie, 16, Roma, 14, and Albany, 11) and had another son born circa 1920. Between 1928 and 1930, Ellen moved to Huntington with her son. The 1930 Census shows a 34 y/o Mary Kiser living in a boarding house in Catlettsburg with three daughters and a son (Gladys, Opal, Beulah, and Curtis, respectively). No, they are not related to me, but yes, there is a story here. I have a good sized piece of it already but would like to find out the conclusion (and maybe the preface).
