I realized that Thomas SR Lewis had a Matilda as well. She was born 1830 and died 1874. She was Christopher Columbus Lewis sister. I think your Matilda(1830-1860 ish) is the one who married John Lewis, Benjamin's son. They had the children you mention above. Who is your grandfather? Also you mention the marriage record between Martha and a John. Can you tell me more? I will have to look back again but I think Matilda, CCL sister married a Conn. I think a John Conn.
